CHANGE OF VOICE INVOLVING TENSES.

 

PRESENT SIMPLE TENSE

RULE:- IS/ AM/ ARE + 3rd FORM OF VERB.

1)   Active: Rashmi writes a letter.

 

Passive: A letter is written by Rashmi.

 

2)   Active: Carpenter makes chairs.

 

Passive: Chairs are made by carpenter.

 

 

PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

 

RULE:- IS/ AM /ARE+ BEING+3RD FORM OF VERB.

1)   Active: Sonia is telling a story.

 

Passive: A story is being told by Sonia.

 

2)   Active: The carpenter is making a chair.

THE SENTENCES WITH THIS TENSE CANNOT BE CHANGED INTO PASSIVE VOICE. PAST SIMPLE TENSE

RULE:- WAS/ WERE + 3RD FORM OF VERB.

1)   Active: Priyanka helped Varun.

 

Passive: Varun was hepled by Priyanka.

Passive: The records were broken by Virat Kohli.

 

 

PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE

FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE
